The Festival
We endeavour to bring a tiny portion of the Edinburgh Fringe to Milton Keynes for one weekend. The event is structured such that, like Edinburgh, difficult decisions have to be made as for which act you are going to see. This does, however, enable us to ensure we have a day full of high profile comedians. We always look to support local street food vendors, pubs and venues.
With a few changes we hope our event is fun, affordable and light-hearted, we can’t wait to see you in Marston Moretain on the 9th July 2022.
We have been lucky enough to have a number of acts perform at the festival including, Adam kay, Boy with Tape on his Face, Abandoman, Foil Arms and Hogg, Paul Sinha, Gary Delany, Lucy Porter, Joe Caulfield and many many more.
A Brief History
Milton Keynes Comedy Cow first appeared with the involvement of Ben and Stephen linking with The Crown in Stony Stratford. We held a weekend of Edinburgh Preview shows and you could come and go as you please for each show, as much as we loved this method it was not only very costly for people but lacked the atmosphere that we were striving for.
We opted for a change and moved the event to Westbury Arts Centre, where it was held for three years. This was a beautiful idyllic location which really encapsulated the feeling of what we wanted to achieve, this venue was in perfect surroundings and a great location, however the infrastructure and logistics proved to costly to keep running in the same format.
In 2019 we opted to take the event to Oakgrove Theatre, the school provided high quality of performances and a higher profile acts in a more controllable environment. We are constantly striving to improve and will endeavour to eventually achieve the optimum of beautiful surroundings without compromising in the quality of acts and the standard we want aim to achieve.
In 2022 after Tim, Mark and Vic joined the Comedy Cow team long term and after the natural two year break due to Covid, we have decided to work with local venues in the beutiful Marston Moretain and we are excited to return to our festival this year, with more of a Fring feel, as we run our events out of three venues within 250m of each other all providding a wide selction of beers, wines, soft drinsk and food.
